Description
Diverter Valve
A Diverter Valve is designed to direct airflow and conveyed material between two different duct paths within an industrial extraction or conveying system.
Commonly used in dust extraction and process ventilation applications, the valve allows the ducting pathway to be changed depending on where airflow or material needs to be directed.
This makes it useful in systems with multiple discharge points, collection points or process lines where the direction of flow needs to be controlled without installing completely separate ducting systems.
Direct Airflow Where It Is Needed
Industrial extraction systems can include multiple duct runs serving different equipment, processes or collection points. A duct diverter provides a controlled junction between two pathways, allowing the flow to be directed along the required route.
Depending on the system configuration, this can help manage how extracted air, dust or particulate moves through the ductwork and towards downstream equipment.
Diverters are particularly suited to applications involving the transport of dust and particulate through industrial ducting.
Manual & Automatic Operation
Diverter valves are available in manual and automatic configurations to suit different system requirements.
A manual valve provides straightforward operator control where the ducting pathway only needs to be changed occasionally.
Automatic models can be pneumatically operated, making them suitable for systems where the flow path needs to change as part of an automated process or production sequence.
The appropriate configuration will depend on the extraction system, application and required level of control.
Designed for Industrial Ducting Systems
Diverters can be incorporated into dust extraction, process ventilation and material conveying systems as part of the overall ducting layout.
They can be used in new installations or incorporated when modifying an existing system to introduce an additional duct path or change how extracted material is directed.
Correct valve sizing and configuration should be considered alongside duct diameter, airflow, conveyed material and the requirements of the overall extraction system.
Part of a Complete Modular Ducting System
Airtight Solutions supplies a comprehensive range of modular ducting and components for industrial dust extraction, fume extraction and process ventilation systems.
Our range includes straight duct, bends, branches, reducers, dampers, flexible ducting and specialist fittings, allowing ducting systems to be configured around individual equipment and site requirements.
Airtight Solutions can assist with individual components and replacement ductwork through to complete extraction system design, supply and installation.
Applications
Diverter valves are suited to industrial extraction and conveying systems where airflow, dust or particulate needs to be directed between two duct paths.
Common applications include:
- Dust extraction systems
- Dust and particulate conveying
- Process ventilation systems
- Woodworking and joinery facilities
- Manufacturing and production facilities
- Recycling and waste processing
- Powder and bulk material handling
- Systems with multiple collection or discharge points
