Client: Eureka Cabinet & Joinery
Location: Ballarat, Victoria, Australia
Scope Of Work: New dust extraction system
Schedule: 2006
Industry: Joineries & Cabinet Makers
Located in Ballarat, Australia and commissioned in FEB 2006 , this large sized factory uses multiple CNC and Point-to-Point machines along side traditional wood working machinery to make cabinetry from MDF and panel products.
Airtight supplied and installed a new dust extraction system consisting of new QF ducting, New Extraction fans, and a NFK10 Modular chain filter.
The NFK10 is a 10 Module fillter, consisting of 8 top filter Modules and 2 inlet Modules. The hopper uses a drag chains to pull the collected dust to one end where it is discharged via a large Rotary Valve into the waste transfer system.
The systems uses 3 separate extraction fans, with individual duct runs blowing into the 2 Inlet Modules.
Using multiple fans allows the customer to divide up the factory and manage power consumption, as not all fans have to run if that part of the factory is not in use.
The waste product is conveyed via a transfer system into a waste container. This partially compacts the product so that there are fewer removal pick-ups required. When the bin is away for emptying, the waste product is held in the filter hopper and once the waste bin is returned and connected, the hopper drag chain sweeps the accumulated dust to one end, through a rotary valve and into the transfer system.
These systems have proven to be highly reliable, with very low running costs and consistently good performance.
